Fall Events Coming Soon

What a great summer! Our tour up to Milwaukee's Summerfest was unforgettable. So was our performance at the French Market Creole Tomato Fest--if not only for how how blazing hot it was that day. We still had a blast. The band's in the process of lining up some fall festivals and shows, and we'll keep you posted! Thanks for supporting the music.

Milo's Music Parlor feat. Kelcy Mae

Tasseology Cafe, 1228 Oretha Castle Haley, New Orleans

Outside of the universe of Frenchmen Street, Bourbon Street, local dive bars, and crowded music festivals exists a growing demographic of New Orleanian music lovers who seek an alternative to smoky rooms, loud tourists, and unintelligible conversation drowning out live music played by high caliber musicians.

Milo’s Music Parlor is held in an intimate setting, featuring musicians who help shape the landscape of the contemporary New Orleans music scene. The artist list includes everyone from the living legends, to the young upstarts, to those burgeoning national and international acts making a pass through the city–all of whom are playing live music in New Orleans for the rich musical history of the city that continues to inspire and influence musicians everywhere.

Milo’s Music Parlor takes place in the bohemian garden courtyard of Tasseology, a cafe located at 1228 O.C. Haley Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70113. Here, the audience gets up close and personal with the artists, in an acoustic, garden setting, with beer, wine, cocktails and a lovely, vegetarian small plate menu available. In addition to the musical performance, the Parlor will have an interview session with the artists including an opportunity for audience members to ask their own questions.

If you’re looking for a glitzy music event with bright lights and razzmatazz, this is not it. Milo’s Music Parlor is a modern-day speakeasy hosted at one of the newly renovated and re-purposed historic buildings dating back almost a century. The historic Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard is one of New Orleans’ historical main streets that is currently undergoing a renaissance; it is restoring New Orleans arts, music, food and culture back to the Central City neighborhood, making it the ideal setting for Milo’s Music Parlor.

Each week, the show is hosted and co-produced by Kim Vu-Dinh of Milo Records New Orleans with co-producers Mark Tobler of WTUL, and the podcast network ItsNewOrleans.com. The Parlor is sponsored in part by WTUL 91.5 fm.

Milo Records is pleased to announce that through a partnership with the podcast station It’s New Orleans, a podcast version of each show will be aired on www.ItsNewOrleans.com each week.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance right here through Brown Paper Tickets. Doors open at 6:15pm, music starts at 6:30pm, half hour interview with Q&A begins at 7:15pm, and music continues up until 8:30. Tickets are $6-$10, pay what you can.
